Multiple Teams · County provides TWO champions


PENDLETON, IN – Alexandria traveled to Pendleton on Saturday and put on quite a performance for the fans as the Tigers brought home a third place team finish in a very close contest. Individually, the Tigers managed to get two champions, while also getting four 2nd place finishes.

Team results and scores were as follows:

3rd Alexandria – 190.5

4th Elwood – 176

5th Anderson – 169

Individual results from the day were as follows: 106 LBS – Gabe Ryan (4th, 2-2), 113 LBS – Leyton Peavler (4th, 1-2), 120 LBS – Nathan Dulworth (5th, 1-2), 126LBS – Jarrett Semon (5th, 1-2), 132 LBS – Carlos Dominguez (2nd, 2-1), 138 – Lincoln Kyle (1st, 3-0), 145 – Luke Blanton (1st, 3-0), 152 – Forfeit, 160 LBS – Forfeit, 170 LBS – Forfeit, 182 LBS – Marcus Carter (2nd, 2-1), 195 LBS – Colt Welsh (2nd, 2-1), 220 LBS – Zach Harris (4th, 2-2), 285 LBS – Austin Neill (2nd, 2-1).

Alexandria’s Luke Blanton (14-0 on the season) was also voted as the recipient of the 2012 Madison County Wrestling Tournament’s “Fred Lamb Outstanding Wrestler Award”. Blanton remained toward the top of the polls in the State Rankings as he still remains ranked No. 2 in the 138 LB weight class.

“It was pretty good,” Blanton said when commenting on his performance Saturday. “Especially since I missed basically three practices because I was sick. I missed Wednesday on. It felt good to me (the performance) because coming off the sickness, I mean I’m still pretty sick, but it felt pretty good just because of that.”

Alexandria (8-3) will now prepare to wrestle at Jay County on Dec. 22nd in the ECIC Team Tournament.
