The Alexandria Tiger Track and Field team began competition the week after spring break. Both the Boys and Girls team had a busy week competing in two 3 way meets versus Wes-Del and Daleville on Monday 4/8 and Eastbrook and Blackford on Tuesday 4/9 followed by the Madison County track meet on Friday. The girls went 2-2 in the meets and tied for 7th place in the county. The boys went 0-4 on the week and placed 8th at County. Among the top performers for the girls this week has been Kelsey Crisp placing at County in 4 events (6th 100m, 7th 200m, 5th Long Jump, and 6th 4x100m Relay). Also, Desirae Litchfield and Allie Mohler placing 5th and 7th respectively in the Discus at County along with top throwing performances in the two meets earlier in the week. For the boys, Craig Doty had an outstanding week finishing 1st at Wes-Del/Daleville, 2nd at Eastbrook/Blackford, and winning the County in the High Jump! His best jump has been 6’-1” and he is looking to go even higher this year.
The Tigers have been working hard this week despite the rain. Both meets this week were cancelled due to the storms moving through the area. The make-up dates for these meets are to be determined. The Tigers continue next week with one meet versus Frankton and Elwood. That meet will be hosted by Elwood on Tuesday 4/23 starting at 5pm.
