The Alexandria Tigers’ Cross Country teams competed in the Meister Family Memorial Cross Country Invitational at Monroe Central.
The ladies’ team finished 12th in the 24 team invitational. The ladies were led on the day by Macy Hood with a new season best time of 23:20.7. Bri Savage and Kait Davis were second and third for the Tigers, both running season best. Maddie King ran her first meet and was the fourth Tiger runner. The remaining Tiger scorers on the day were Jenna Ogborn, Lydia Woodruff, and Erin Robinson.
The guys team finished the day in 18th place. Chet Maynard led the Tiger team with a time of 19:39.0. Sean Kilgore, DJ Rambo, and Jordan Murdock were the 2, 3, 4 for the Tigers. Averill Everett dropped over 3 minutes off of his season best to round out the Tiger top five. The final two Tigers taking the scoring spots were Guy Maynard and Jacob Shrewsberry.
The other high school highlight of the day was Mercedes Warner, Miki Murphy, and MJ Hosier dropping their season bests by over 2 minutes.
The junior high ladies finished 7th in field of 14 teams. The Tigers’ top finisher was Jordan Bodie with a time of 16:01.4 on the 2 mile course. The rest of the top Tigers were Morgan Long, Maddi Zent, Harmony Hood, Mackenzie Swango, Reanna Stinson, and Lily Thomas.
The boys team finished the day in 9th place. The younger guys were led by Avree Jenkins with a time of 13:10.3. Avree was followed by Jayden Stanberry, Tommy Metzger, Mason Zent, Landon Butcher, Jesse Lipps, and Derek Stinefield.
The Tigers next races will be Wednesday at the Pendleton Heights Arabian Round Up.
