Boys Junior Varsity Tennis, Boys Varsity Tennis · Tennis Keeps Rolling, Beats Greenfield-Central 5-0

Our Alex Tiger tennis team achieved a tough road win as we traveled to Greenfield Central.   Long week after two big CIC matches, we looked a little sluggish at times but took care of business.

Blake kicked things off with a very quick win.  He popped a string on his racket, but never faltered as he looked strong in his win.   Josh picked up the 2nd point winning a tight 1st set where he was not playing very well, but grabbed a quick lead and the momentum in the 2nd.  His opponent reaggrivated a leg injury so he retired as Josh was up 3-0.   #1D of Dane & Matt coming off a very impressive win last night, started very strong jumping out to a quick lead.   Sadly they could not keep it up as the 2nd set saw the Tigers struggle keeping the pressure on.   They were able to turn it back on and finish them off in straight sets.   We did a little rotating at 2D getting Noah some work w/ Kiel.   They played up and down, but gained quick leads in both sets.  Matthew at #2S had the toughest matchup as he saw a power player who hit the ball aggressively.   Both sets were tight and Matthew had to almost run out of his shoes for the win.  He literally blew out his shoe and we had to make a shoe change in the middle of the match.

JV was not as lucky.  Payton has been nursing an elbow injury so he got to play doubles w/ Sam.  They started slow as they have never played with each other, but found their grove to win.  The rest of the doubles fond similar success playing with new partners but getting all four points.  Sadly the singles could not get going as they fell 4-5.

The Tiger Tennis Team is now 17-2 on the season.
